Tools and resources just for you!

Apps
I have used all of these apps with my boys. Some require subscriptions.
-
Rivet: This is a new obsession in our household. You pick the child's level (which is easily changed) and your child can choose from tons of books to read. They can touch any word and it will be read to them, and so much more. Plus, it's free!
-
Starfall ABCs - This app is really simple for young ones. Touching the word or an arrow is very straight forward. Subscription is needed for additional items and games, but the whole alphabet is available on the app. This is popular in classrooms and smartboards are typically used.
-
Starfall Free & Member - As seen above, subscription to Starfall is needed for all content, but still a great app just using the free items.
-
Starfall Learn to Read - Goes over vowel sounds and phonics skills used in reading.
-
Starfall I'm Reading - Simple reading for beginner and early readers. Great tool.
-
Starfall It's Fun to Read - Tongue twisters, riddles, poetry, and more to excite your reader.
-
Starfall Numbers - Not a free app, but if you have the subscription, it's great. Time, money, counting, etc. is covered.
-
ABCmouse - As seen on TV. Subscription is needed. Keep an eye out for their specials. Usable on the computer or via app. Kids are rewarded for doing the lessons that are simple like games so it doesn't feel like work.
-
Wonster ABC Phonics Spelling - Need subscription for the full content but still great in the free portion. Kids touch and drag the letters to spell words and the letters make the sounds as you drag. Cute and really fun. Great for teaching letter sounds.
-
YouTube Kids - While this can be a great resource, it can also be bad. Choose what your kid watches, not them. See my videos page to see what content is great for your kid.
-
Laugh & Learn First Words Fun - Fun and cute animations to teach first words. Simple app for little ones.
-
Learning Letters Puppy - Great for even babies. Simple and straightforward for your little ones.
-
Khan Academy Kids - Very different from typical learning apps, but lots of different activites to help with math, reading, spelling, social learning, etc.
-
PBS Kids Video - Great for accessing your favorite learning shows like Daniel Tiger, SuperWhy and Sesame street.
-
PBS Play and Learn Science - Great beginner science for curious minds like friction, temperature, and density.
-
Colors & Shapes - Kids Learn Color and Shape - a free game that words at a great pace for your little one. I would recommend most of their learning apps.
-
ABC Kids Tracing & Phonics - Made by the same creators as the above app. My son still even enjoys this app after he learned how to write. Great for all young ages.
-
123 Numbers - Count & Tracing - Same as above. Great number tracing.
-
ABC Spelling - Spell & Phonics - Add onto their skill of letters with beginner spelling and phonics.
-
Math Kids - Add, Subtract, Count, and Learn - Yet another great app from the same as above. Start your young ones early on math. It's fun and you will see why this is a favorite.
-
Pinkfong ABC Phonics - This puts their youtube videos of phonics into an app. Also comes with tracing and activities with all the letters to teach your kids the alphabet.
-
Pinkfong Super Phonics -
-
ABCya! Games - Free to use on a desktop or laptop, but you need to pay a subscription for the mobile or tablet version. Content for all the way to 6th grade. I highly recommend this for your early to middle school kid for learning and for school help.
