Toys
Birth-PreK:
-
Leapfrog Fridge Phonics Magnetic Letter Set - I found mine at Walmart but I've seen them in many other locations. The is the most frequently used alphabet toy in our house by far. Your kid will love this.
-
Leapfrog Fridge Numbers Magnetic Set - Not as great as the letter set, but still a great tool to introduce 1-9 and counting with your child.
-
VTech Lil' Speller Phonics Station - Practices phonics and their letters. Great tool to use with your kids.
-
Foam Bath Letters & Numbers - Start early with these! Baby's first bath can include these and can be used much further into toddler life. Buy extra sets to have enough letters. Once they know their letters, they can do spelling and even sentences. Mine do!
-
Foam Magnetic Letters - We scored a giant magnetic dry erase board at a steal from Hobby Lobby. My son loves it because he has so much space to make sentences and practices spelling words with this set.
-
Foam Magnetic Numbers - When my son isn't doing spelling and sentences, he loves using the numbers set to practice his addition and subtraction skills even at 4 years old.
-
VTech Touch and Learn Activity Desk Deluxe - There are so many lesson sets you can buy for your child that won't break the bank. It's entertaining, very educational, and if you shop the local buy sell trades, you may score a used one for a steal!
-
Melissa & Doug Disney Classics Alphabet Wooden Peg Puzzle - not only is it great for working on letters, it works on their coordination which will eventually help with writing.
-
Melissa & Doug Shape Sorting Clock - Great for introducing time, and they get to play with the shape puzzle part of it too.
-
Melissa & Doug Water WOW - Not only is it great for their hand coordination, it is a mess free activity they can do on their own, even in the car.
