I know I usually post on Mondays or Tuesdays, but with the upcoming "Snownado" and other types of crazy weather they forecast for our area, I thought I'd share if we are stuck inside for a few days. I recently stumbled across this new app and I HAD to share it with everyone. IT'S FREE!
Rivet a reading app with built in support for your child. It has thousands of books and they are displayed according to your child's reading level.
Of course this shouldn't replace working with your child and listening to them read, but I have found it can be an excellent activity that can get your child reading even MORE. It tracks how long they read, what they read, and even allows the child to read aloud and it tracks what words it says correctly. If they get hung up on a word, all they have to do is tap it and it will be read aloud to them. For some books and levels, they can tap for the page to be read to them. There is fiction and non-fiction books and they are divided into categories and even topics can be searched. You can save the books to be read again and it will recommend others based on which ones they liked. There are even popular YouTube videos that are turned into books!
You can track progress and their activities in parent section too! Cool, huh???
Books from a wide variety of categories are available:
-Adventure
-Animals
-Arts and Crafts
-Community
-Fiction
-History
-Holidays
-Learning
-Non-fiction
-Science
-Sports
-Vehicles
Fun books from your favorite YouTube creators including: -Troom Troom -Family Fun Pack -Eh Bee Family -FUNnel Vision -CookieSwirlC -Onyx Family -Maymo -That YouTub3 Family -Moriah Elizabeth -Ninja Kidz TV
-IncredibleScience
-Art4Kids Hub
-and many more
I am in no way getting anything out of recommending this app! Just like I promised, I recommend what I find works so others can benefit. Available for android or apple.
Do you have any apps that I haven't recommended? Let me know!
